The Milwaukee Brewers head into this series with the Nationals battling the Cincinnati Reds for first place in the NL Central Division. The Brewers are trying to avoid the same results from 2022 when the team fell out of first place in the second half after some questionable trade deadline deals. The Brewers have made more subtle deals this deadline thus far after acquiring veteran first baseman Carlos Santana along with veteran outfielder Mark Canha for some minor-leaguers. The Brewers hope the pair will improve an offense that has struggled at times this season and to help a team that has lost four straight coming into Tuesday night's game. On Tuesday night, trailing 3-1 in the fourth, the Brewers scored four times and held on for a 6-4 win to end their four-game skid.

The Brewers give the ball to veteran lefty Wade Miley on Wednesday night. Miley is 6-2 in 13 starts this season including six quality starts. He has allowed 59 hits in 67.2 innings of work with an ERA of 3.06. Miley has a K/9 rate of just 6.1 and his WHIP is 1.15. Miley is 1-0 in his last three starts with an ERA of 3.60. Miley is 2-1 with a solid 2.73 ERA on the road this season in six starts.

Key Injuries: 3B Brian Anderson and 1B Rowdy Tellez are out.
