Milwaukee Brewers vs. Colorado Rockies Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-6-2022

Milwaukee will be in another must-win situation when it faces Colorado in the second game of a three-game series on Tuesday night. The Brewers opened the series with a 6-4 win on Monday after losing three out of four in Arizona over the weekend. Colorado has lost five of its last six games, including a 10-0 loss to Cincinnati on Sunday.

Milwaukee got off to a strong start in the second half of the season, winning seven of its first eight games. The Brewers have been struggling for basically the entirety of the time since then, including a brutal series at Arizona over the weekend. They lost three of their four games against the Diamondbacks, with the lone win coming in extra innings on Saturday. Milwaukee bounced back with a 6-4 win on Monday and will be wrapping up its seven-game road trip on Wednesday. The Brewers are 7.5 games back of St. Louis in the National League Central, but they are only two games back of San Diego and Philadelphia for the final NL Wild Card spot.

They have not been a strong offensive team this year, ranked No. 22 with an average of .235. Left fielder Christian Yelich leads the way with 122 hits, while left fielder Andrew McCutchen has 109 hits. Yelich was not in the lineup on Monday due to a neck injury. They are facing a Colorado pitching staff that is dead last with an ERA of 5.06. Right-handed pitcher Brandon Woodruff is going to start for Milwaukee on Tuesday night. He allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four batters across 5.2 innings against Arizona last Thursday. Woodruff gave up a two-run homer in the first inning en route to his worst start since early May. He has been unable to match his brilliant numbers from last season, but he still has a 3.54 ERA overall this year.
