Milwaukee Brewers vs. Colorado Rockies Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-5-2022

The Brewers and Rockies will begin a three-game series on the Rocky Mountain air on Monday night. The Brewers come in after having lost three of four games over the weekend in Arizona. The Rockies come into the series after losing two of three in Cincinnati following a doubleheader split on Sunday. The pitching matchup for Monday night will feature Freddy Peralta (4-3, 3.56) of the Brewers taking on Ryan Feltner (2-6, 5.78) of the Rockies. Game time is scheduled for 4:10pm EST.

It appears to have reached this point for the Brewers 2022 season; do or die. Following a lost weekend in the desert that saw the BrewCrew drop three of four games to the Diamondbacks, the team finds themselves more or less out of the NL Central Division hunt. Milwaukee now stands 8.5 games behind the Cardinals for the division lead, including eight games in the loss column. In the wildcard race, however, the Brewers are still just 2.5 gams back of the third and final spot and just two games behind Philadelphia in the loss column. It will be put up or shut up as the Brewers continue their road trip into the Rocky Mountains.

The Brewers road to success has been simple for the majority of the season; timely power hitting and excellent starting pitching. The pitching was decent in Arizona, with a team ERA of 4.76 and 34 hits allowed in 34 innings. They had just one quality start in the four games, which was disappointing in a series that featured Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes and Eric Lauer. At the plate, the Brewers hit just .204 with four home runs in the series and just 8 extra base hits overall. Recently returned Freddy Peralta will take his turn on the mound in the thin air of Colorado. He is 1-1 since returning from IL with a tidy 2.08 ERA. He has allowed just ten hits in 26 innings pitched and struck out 20 batters. He is 1-0 in his career in Colorado, going 5.1 innings and allowing just one hit and no runs in his only appearance at Coors Field.
