On Wednesday, Pittsburgh OF Bryan Reynolds crushed a solo shot to lead off the ninth inning to send the fans home happy. SS Oneil Cruz also went deep and scored twice for the Pirates, who improved to 42-62 on the year.
The Pirates will give the nod to twenty-eight year old righty Zach Thompson (3-8 5.09 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Thompson was tagged for seven runs in five plus innings during an 8-7 home loss versus Philadelphia.
