The annual Christmas Eve tradition that is the Hawaii Bowl returns with a matchup between the Blue Raiders and Aztecs.
A slow start quickly took Middle Tennessee (5-6-1 ATS, 6-5-1 O/U) out of content ion for a Conference USA Championship. However, the Blue Raiders won four of their final five regular season games to punch a ticket to Honolulu. MTSU also sprung an impressive Power 5 upset over Miami early in the year.
San Diego State (5-7 ATS, 5-7 O/U) also got better as the season went on. The Aztecs were sub-.500 at the end of September but went on to win five of their last seven matchups. SDSU's offense improved significantly in the season's second half but only scored 3 points in a loss to Air Force in the regular-season finale.
