Purdue won the only matchup between these teams last season by five on the road. Purdue is currently listed as 17.5-point favorites. Rutgers is tied with Michigan at 2-5, while every other team in the conference has three wins or more. Michigan has lost six of their last seven games, with their only win coming over Ohio State at home. In their last game, Michigan was led by forward Tarris Reed Jr with 20 points in the loss to Illinois.

Dug McDaniel is the team's leading scorer, but he will miss this game as he is serving a suspension on road games.
