Michigan State won 11 games last year and lost just two games to Ohio State and Purdue. The Spartans even earned a massive upset over Michigan as they dominated in the fourth quarter to take home a 37-33 win against their in-state rival.
The Spartans lost a key offensive weapon in running back Kenneth Walker to the NFL, but they'll still run their offense through receiver Jayden Reed and QB Payton Thorne, while defensively, defensive end Jacob Slade and safety Xavier Henderson will be threats to any Big Ten opponent. They rank 15th in preseason polling, but are just one spot ahead of Penn State and far behind Ohio State and Michigan.
