Michigan State at Notre Dame – 11/30/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Michigan State Spartans and Notre Dame Fighting Irish face off on Wednesday in a college basketball showdown at the Joyce Center. When these two teams faced off in 2020 it was Michigan State that secured the 80-70 victory. 

Michigan State comes into this game with a 5-2 record and they have gone 3-4 against the spread. In the last game against Portland, the offense scored 78 points, but they only won by a point. Guard Tyson Walker had a big game finishing with 16 points and five rebounds. There are five different players that scored at least 11 points. Michigan State is averaging 73.9 points while their defense is giving up 70.7 points per game. Walker has been the top player for the Spartans averaging 15.6 points while shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from behind the three-point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is Notre Dame who sits with a 5-1 record and they have gone 1-5 against the spread. In the last game against St. Bonaventure, the offense only scored 51 points, and that led to the 12 point defeat. Two games ago against Bowling Green they were able to win 82-66. Notre Dame is averaging 74.7 points while their defense is giving up 70.2 points per game. The defense is ranked 217th in the league, and needs to be improved upon here. Nate Laszewski has been the top player for Notre Dame averaging 18.2 points while shooting 56.1 percent from the field.
