Michigan State will make the trip to the Big House and face Michigan this weekend in primetime on ABC. Michigan and Michigan State have faced off for the Paul Bunyan Trophy in nearly every season since 1907. Michigan State is 27.1 points per game, while passing for 242.5 yards per game (115th), and rushing for 106.2 yards per game (240th). Defensively, the Spartans allow 27.6 points per game.

Payton Thorne responded with his cleanest start of the season versus Wisconsin. The junior quarterback passed for his highest total in conference play and tossed a pair of touchdowns, but most importantly he protected the football. Thorne has thrown for 1,499 passing yards with 11 touchdowns to seven interceptions on the season.
