Michigan at Maryland Prediction – Basketball Picks 1/19/23

The Michigan Wolverines will head down to College Park to meet the Maryland Terrapins in Big Ten play from the Xfinity Center on ESPN. Michigan leads the all-time series, 11-6, after winning nine of the last ten meetings.

Michigan is 10-7 after beating Northwestern in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines trailed the Wildcats at the break, but they’d overcome it and walk away with the seven-point win. Michigan scores 76.1 points per game, while allowing 70.6 ppg, and shooting 45.3% from the field. 

Michigan is off to a 4-2 start in Big Ten play, and they’ve been known to really get things going down the stretch over the years. Hunter Dickinson gave Maryland all kinds of trouble with a season-high 32 points in the first meeting, and he leads Big Blue in scoring (17.8) and rebounding (8.9). First-year guard Jett Howard scored 34 points against Iowa, and he’s second on the team with 15.5 ppg. Sophomore guard Kobe Bufkin led the Wolverines with 20 points in the win over Northwestern, and he’s up to 12.6 ppg.
