Miami (OH) will try to extend its four-game winning streak when it wraps up the regular season at Buffalo on Friday night. The RedHawks went 2-11 through their first 13 conference games, but they have gotten hot down the stretch. Buffalo has won two of its last three games and will be looking for revenge after losing to Miami by 11 points in early January.
Miami has been a disappointing team for virtually the entire campaign, failing to get above the .500 mark at any point in the year. The RedHawks were particularly bad to open the 2023 portion of their schedule, losing 11 of their first 13 games. One of their two wins during that stretch came against Buffalo on Jan. 10 in a 91-80 final, despite being a 3.5-point underdog. Miami has been able to get back on track since the middle of February, rattling off four consecutive wins against Northern Illinois, Bowling Green, Ohio and Western Michigan, with the latter two victories coming by 15+ points.

The RedHawks were 6-point underdogs against Ohio and were 1-point underdogs against the Broncos, so those blowout wins were certainly unexpected. They have relied on their offense to win games this season ranked No. 95 in effective field goal percentage. Miami ranks No. 233 in 3-point percentage (33.1), but it is No. 44 in 2-point percentage (54.0) and No. 8 in free-throw percentage (78.7). The RedHawks are facing a Buffalo defense that is No. 258 in field goal percentage. Senior guard Mekhi Lairy leads Miami with 17.6 points, 3.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. Junior guard Morgan Safford (15.3) and senior forward Anderson Mirambeaux (14.1) are both scoring in double figures as well.
