Miami-OH at Kentucky 9/3/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Miami of Ohio Redhawks and Kentucky Wildcats face off on Saturday in a Week 1 college football showdown at Kroger Field.

Miami Ohio finished last season with a 7-6 record overall and they believe they can take a bigger step forward here. This isn’t a Miami of Ohio team that's thought about as a flashy team, but they have a very good offense. Last season the offense averaged 423 yards through the air, and it’s going to be important the offense is going again here. Quarterback Brett Gabbert is back after throwing for 3600 yards and 32 touchdowns. On defense, they are also good, but they lost a whole lot of key pieces that are going to need to be replaced this season. Four of the top defenders are gone, but this is still a strong unit.

On the other side of this matchup is the Kentucky Wildcats and they finished last season with a 10-3 record. The Wildcats offense finished 8th in the SEC and they are going to need to be better right now. Kentucky averaged 32 points per game, and they have a new quarterback who they hope can bring in new heights. Will Levis started his career at Penn State, but now gets the chance to start here. Chris Rodriguez is in the backfield and last year he threw for 2800 yards and 24 touchdowns. On defense they were strong last season, especially against the run. They gave up only 22 points per game.
