The Miami Marlins will take on the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park. First pitch from Philadelphia, PA, is at 6:40 p.m. ET. The Phillies are -165 moneyline favorites and the game total is set at 7.5 runs scored.
Miami (4-6 SU and 3-7 RL) lost two of three to the New York Mets in its prior series, winning the final get of the set. The Marlins will start lefty Jesús Luzardo (1-0 with a 0.71 ERA in two starts) on Tuesday evening.
Philadelphia (3-6 SU and 3-6 RL) took two of three from Cincinnati in its previous series but lost the series finale. The Phillies will counter with right-hander Aaron Nola (0-1 with a 7.45 ERA in two starts) at home on Tuesday.
Miami hopes to earn a series win in Philadelphia with ace Sandy Alcántara taking the bump on Monday and Luzardo following him on Tuesday. You won't find a much better one-two punch at the top of a rotation in the big leagues. That's unwelcomed news in Philadelphia, as the defending National League champs are three games under .500 and 27th in runs scored this year.
Miami scores 2.22 runs per game (30th) and hits .221 (26th) with a .635 OPS (27th). The Marlins have hit nine homers (17th) and stolen two bases (24th). The MIA pitching staff has compiled a 4.90 ERA (20th) and a 1.30 WHIP (10th).
Performance of the day comes from Miami!

Luzardo has picked up right where he left off in the World Baseball Classic, where he represented Venezuela, with two shutdown performances against New York and Minnesota. In 12.2 total innings, the 25-year-old rising star has allowed just one run on seven hits, with 15 strikeouts and five walks. Luzardo is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts in three career appearances versus Philly.
