The New York Mets (71-85) host the Miami Marlins (81-75) on Wednesday at 4:10pmET in the first game of a doubleheader. The opening game on Tuesday was rained out.

The game on Tuesday was postponed due to rain, but really due to unplayable field conditions. This will now force Miami to use top starter Braxton Garrett on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. If they are still in the playoff race by Sunday (they are just a 1/2 game out of the wild card race), they might have to use Garrett on three day's rest or go with someone else.

The Marlins come into this series having won two of three from Milwaukee at home and lost two of three to the Mets at home. Garrett is just 9-6, but has a 3.53 ERA and is 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA in six games against the Mets in his career. The lefty has been brilliant over his last four starts, allowing just two runs and 15 hits. On Sept. 19 in his last start, he faced the Mets and held them to one run (none earned) and five hits ina 4-3 Miami win.
