Miami Marlins vs. Atlanta Braves Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 4-25-2023

A pair of teams from the NL East continue a series on the diamond down in Hotlanta looking to put a game in the win column. The Miami Marlins are on the road as they play the second game of a four-game series with the Atlanta Braves Tuesday night. Miami missed a chance at a sweep of an interleague set on the road against the Guardians as they were defeated 7-4 Sunday afternoon in the finale of their three-game series. Atlanta was swept at home as they were beaten 5-2 by Houston Sunday afternoon in the closing game of their set. This article was published prior to the conclusion of the opening game of this set at Truist Park.

I won $14,619 in parlay tickets in the month of November, hit a 47-1 parlay to kick off the New Year plus 18 more four-teamers worth more than $16,400 in the last 10 weeks! That includes eight hits in the month of April alone worth $5,651! Don't miss out on another big payday! Click here to get a month of my parlays for only $50 (normally $100)!

Miami had their chances but was unable to complete the sweep of the Guardians on the road Sunday afternoon. The Marlins entered Monday 12-10 overall and stood third in the NL East, two games behind the Braves for the top spot in the division. On Sunday, Miami finished with eight hits though Jorge Soler (run) was the lone player with multiple hits as he finished three for three. Jon Berti (his second) and Avisail Garcia (his second) each went deep in the defeat for the Marlins. Jesus Luzardo (2-1) took the loss on the mound as he allowed four runs on eight hits with one walk and six strikeouts over 4.1 innings of work.

This would have been Trevor Rogers’ spot in the rotation but with him on the IL with a biceps issue, the Marlins are expected to call up Bryan Hoeing from Triple-A Jacksonville of the International League to make his season debut. Hoeing has made four appearances, three starts, for Jacksonville this season. He has no record, a 2.08 ERA, a 0.981 WHIP, two walks and 20 strikeouts over 17.1 innings of work on the year. Hoeing makes his third career appearance and first start against the Braves in this contest. He comes in with no record, an 11.57 ERA, a 1.286 WHIP, one walk and one strikeout over 2.1 innings of work against them. In his ninth major league appearance and his second career start, Hoeing pitches at Truist Park for the first time here.
