The Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs face off on Saturday in an MLB showdown at Wrigley Field. On Friday it was the Cubs that were able to secure the 2-1 victory. Willson Contreras hit a home run in the 8th inning to secure the win.
The Cubs sit with a 42-63 record overall and they had lost five games in a row before winning on Friday. The Cubs offense has really struggled the last week and needs to be picked up here soon. The Cubs are averaging 4.14 runs per game and the pitching staff is even worse giving up 4.91 runs per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Marlins who sit with a 48-58 record overall and they have lost six of their last seven games. Over the last two games, the Marlins have given up only two runs total but still could only win one of the games. The Marlins offense overall is only averaging 3.88 runs per game which is 25th in baseball. Jazz Chisholm is still hurt and that is a big loss for the offense.
