After a very slow start to the season, the Miami Heat appear to be making their move of late. Miami is 7-3 in its last ten games and sit in sixth place in the conference with room to grow. On Tuesday night, Jimmy Butler scored 23 points and Bam Adebayo had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Heat downed the Cavaliers by a score of 100-97. Caleb Martin also had a big night with a double-double of his own with 18 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. With the win, the Heat are now just 1.5 games in back of the fifth-place Cavs in the Eastern Conference.

“When it gets to the last three of four minutes, because of the experiences we’ve had, guys feel comfortable enough to execute under that kind of pressure,” Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said.

The Heat have not stood out in too many categories this season except for scoring defense. Miami ranks second in the NBA in scoring defense thus far. Despite that, the Heat are just 20th in opponent's field goal percentage and 23rd in 3pt defense. The undersized Heat are also just 26th in the NBA in total rebounding. Offensively, the Heat have been a below average team this season. They rank last in the NBA in points per game. The Heat are also just 28th in field goal percentage and 27th in 3pt field goal percentage. Miami has done an above average job in protecting the basketball, ranking fifth in fewest turnovers per game.
