Miami had won three straight and six of their previous eight games before getting upended by Atlanta on the road Monday afternoon. Against Atlanta, Miami was down 12 after the opening quarter and never got back in the game. The Heat trailed by as many as 26 in the first half, by 20 at halftime and got no closer than four, with that coming in the final minute of play. Miami shot 48.3% from the field, including eight of 31 from three-point range, and won the rebounding battle 41-28. They were undone by allowing Atlanta to shoot 59.2% in the contest. Jimmy Butler paced the Heat with 34 points in the loss.

Omar Yurtseven (ankle) underwent surgery November 15 and is out indefinitely. Robinson (finger) underwent surgery January 5 and is expected to be out until early February.
