Miami Dolphins vs. Chicago Bears Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-6-2022

The Miami Dolphins take to the road and head to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon. The Dolphins have bounced back from a three-game losing streak to win each of their last two games, including a 31-27 come-from-behind win over the Lions on Sunday. The Bears, meanwhile, sit at 3-5 on the season and have lost four out of their last five games. Both teams were active at the NFL trade deadline with the Dolphins picking up RB Jeff Wilson from the Niners and OLB Bradley Chubb from the Broncos. The Bears also made some major moves, trading DE Robert Quinn to Philadelphia, LB Roquan Smith to the Ravens and picking up WR Chase Claypool from the Steelers. The opening kick is scheduled for 1:00pm EST.

The Miami Dolphins come into this week's matchup at 5-3 on the season and now with a new piece to utilize on the defensive end. In addition to adding RB Jeff Wilson from the Niners, the Dolphins dealt RB Chase Edmonds and draft picks for edge rusher Bradley Chubb. The team immediately inked Chubb to a long term deal, bolstering the club for not only this season but the future. The Dolphins offense has flourished under new head coach Mike McDaniel and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa but they addressed major needs in acquiring Wilson as a quality rotational back with starter Raheem Mostart, his former teammate, and adding Chubb to a defense that has given up too many points this season. After going 0-3 in Tagovailoa's absense from concussion symptoms, the team has bounce back with two-straight wins. He went 20-of-36 against the Lions this past Sunday for 382 yards and three touchdowns. WR Tyreek Hill had 12 catches on the day for 188 yards . Fellow receiver Jaylen Waddle also had over 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns. The Dolphins offense finished with 27 first downs and 476 yards of total offense.

When asked how he felt about his pairing with Waddle, Hill had a simple response when asked if he felt the two receivers were unstoppable.  “Always,” Hill said.

The Dolphins come into week 9 with the 16th ranked scoring offense, numbers that slid somewhat with Tagovailoa's near three-game absence. They are just 28th in the NFL in rushing but 3rd in the league in passing. The Dolphins have been deadly in the red zone at converting opportunities into touchdowns, ranking 5th in the NFL. The Dolphins are 23rd in the NFL in turnover differential and have been bitten by the penalty bug, ranking 28th. The Dolphins are ranked just 26th against the pass, a number that should improve with Chubb rushing from the edge.

Key Injuries: LB Jerome Baker (hip), TE Tanner Conner (knee), DT Raekwon Davis (knee), S Clayton Fejedelem (groin), T Brandon Shell (groin), TE Durham Smythe (hamstring) and LB Andrew Van Ginkel (chest/rib). All these players were limited participants this week but each played vs. Detroit.
