The Memphis Tigers dropped their first conference game on Thursday night in a heartbreaking 74-73 loss to South Florida at home. The Tigers' loss not only ended the team's perfect start in conference play but their 10-game winning streak as well. It looked to be just another win for the Tigers by halftime, leading 47-32 after the first 20 minutes. The second half was a different story, however, with South Florida getting hot from the perimeter and climbing all the way back in the game. The Tigers did have a shot to win the game at the buzzer but a three-point shot fell short. David Jones led the Tigers with 25 points, including 18 in the first half. Jahvon Quinerly added 15 points and Nae-Qwan Tomlin gave the Tigers ten points and seven rebounds in the loss.

The Memphis Tigers look to bounce back from their first conference loss with a road win at Tulane. The Tigers come in ranked 31st in the country in scoring offense. They are 69th in field goal percentage and 105th in 3-point shooting. The Tigers are also 96th in the nation in 3-point field goals per game. Defensively, the Tigers are ranked just 223rd in scoring defense this season. The Tigers are 63rd in field goal defense and 129th in 3-point defense. They are also a respectable 105th in total rebounds per game this season. The Tigers have been sloppy, however, ranked 254th in turnovers per game.
