The Memphis Tigers are seeking a second consecutive win. Memphis is a good squad but has been shaky recently. They were 4-0 after four AAC clashes but proceeded to lose four games in a row. This includes a bad 74-71 home loss against Rice. The squad rebounded with a narrow 65-63 home win against Wichita State on Saturday in a game that had them favored by 9.5 points to improve to 5-4 in AAC play. The Tigers have not been reliable. They have not covered the spread in five straight games.

David Jones is one of the best players in the AAC. The senior forward has scored at least 24 points in four of his last five games including 32 against Tulane. Jones has recorded an average of 21.8 PPG on 46% shooting. Jahvon Quinery has been slumping this past week, shooting below 30% in three consecutive games. The senior guard netted eight points against Rice last week and has issued an average of 13.1 PPG. Nae&# x2019;Qwan Tomlin has scored at least 10 points in four of his last five games. The senior forward has reported an average of 10.4 PPG and 5.9 RPG.

The Tigers are positioned 78th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and are a solid 5-3 on the road this season including a win against Tulsa. Memphis is scoring an average of 80.3 points on the season, marking them 50th. The defense has been a weakness, allowing at least 74 points in four of their last five games, and are conceding an average of 75.1 points, placing them 270th.
