Memphis will try to extend its five-game winning streak when it travels to Atlanta on Sunday night. The Grizzlies have won eight of their last nine games, beating Houston twice in a row earlier this week. Atlanta opened a three-game homestand with a 143-130 win over Indiana on Saturday.
Memphis lost eight out of nine games from the end of January to the beginning of February, but it has been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since then. The Grizzlies have won eight of their last nine games, despite playing without star guard Ja Morant for a large chunk of that stretch due to a suspension. They beat Dallas three times and Golden State twice during that stretch before adding two wins against Houston earlier this week. The Grizzlies did not cover the spread in their 130-125 win over the Rockets on Wednesday, but they poured in 151 points in a blowout win on Friday.

Shooting guard Luke Kennard poured in 30 points on a franchise-record 10 of 11 shooting from 3-point range, while shooting guard Desmond Bane had 25 points on 10 of 13 shooting from the floor. The Grizzlies built a 31-point halftime lead and clinched a playoff spot while scoring the second-most points in team history, as Kennard became the second player in NBA history to score 30 points all on triples. Morant had 18 points and eight assists in his second game after serving an eight-game league-imposed suspension. Memphis ranks eighth in the league in scoring (116.7) and is facing an Atlanta defense that is No. 23 (117.6).
