Mavericks vs. Celtics Player Props & Odds: Game 2 Expert Picks for Sundayiv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

The Boston Celtics host the Dallas Mavericks at TD Garden with a 1-0 series lead heading into Game 2 of the NBA Finals, as we offer our best Mavericks vs. Celtics player props based on the best NBA odds from our best sports betting sites.

Well, who saw that coming? The visiting Dallas Mavericks looked like no match for the Boston Celtics, who stormed out to a 17-point lead after the first quarter of an eventual 107-89 win in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

The Celtics are 7-point favorites to beat the Mavericks in Game 2 and remain the clear title favorites by the NBA championship odds after that Game 1 rout. They'll surely get the Mavericks' best effort in Game 2, especially if Luka Doncic shows why he entered the series among the favorites in the NBA Finals MVP odds.

Here are our best Mavericks vs. Celtics player props and NBA picks for Gam e 2.

Mavericks vs. Celtics prop bet predictions for Sunday

Without a doubt, the biggest story of Game 1 was Porzingis' return from injury and his resounding success as a scorer off the bench. Porzinigs delivered 11 of his 20 points in the first quarter of his NBA Finals debut against his former team.

What was (slightly) less celebrated was his tremendous effort on the defensive end. The 7-foot-2 center blocked three shots in his return from injury – including two in the first quarter – and has now finished with multiple blocks in four of five postseason games and 32 of 62 total games with the Celtics (51.6%).

Even with those numbers in the past and a potential boost in playing time in Game 2, Porzingis is still catching +105 odds to block multiple shots. According to our odds converter, those odds imply a 48.78% chance of him doing it again on Sunday with a $10.50 profit on a $10 wager if he does.

Best odds: +105 via FanDuel

After living on a steady diet of lobs in the first three rounds, Dallas attempted just one alley-oop in Game 1 – tied for its fewest all postseason – and the team's traditional bigs struggled to defend Boston's five-out approach on the other end.

So coach Jason Kidd turned to the veteran Kleber midway through the second quarter, and the Mavericks started switching everything defensively with better spacing on the offensive end. Kleber himself didn't attempt a 3-pointer, but his mere presence helped Dallas cut a ballooning deficit and teased a potential adjustment for Game 2.

In the end, Kleber saw his most playing time (18 minutes) since injuring his shoulder in Round 1. He's attempted 3.5 triples per game in his other four postseasons contests with at least that much run, and I like his chances of converting at least one 3-pointer on Sunday at even money.

Kleber's elevated playing time came at the direct expense of Gafford, who played 14 minutes in Game 1 – tied for his second-fewest this postseason – and logged a mere four minutes of action in the second half.

Gafford is simply a poor fit in this series on both ends of the floor: he isn't quick enough to defend the Celtics' sweet-shooting bigs on one end, and he doesn't provide any spacing on the other end. That's a tough combination when those easy looks above the rim aren't as abundant as they have been all postseason long.

Gafford did (barely) clear this total in Game 1, but I suspect his playing time could be even worse on Sunday, especially if Kidd opts for Kleber down the stretch to improve spacing on both ends.
