Bowl game season is underway after an exciting 2022 college football campaign. One successful program taking part in the postseason once again is the Maryland Terrapins, who will face NC State in the Duke's Mayo Bowl on Friday, Dec. 30.

Maryland Bowl Game History
College football fans shouldn't be surprised to learn that Maryland has built a solid bowl game history over the years. The Terrapins have played in a total of 28 bowl games all-time and are set to make back-to-back bowl game appearances for the first time since 2013-2014 when they suit up on Friday.
Maryland's first bowl game appearance came in the 1948 Gator Bowl under head coach Jim Tatum. The Terrapins played the Georgia Bulldogs to a 20-20 tie and their first bowl win did not come un til two years later. They took down the Missouri Tigers by a score of 20-7 during the 1950 Gator Bowl.
The Terrapins' most recent bowl appearance came in last year's Pinstripe Bowl under the guidance of head coach Mike Locksley. Maryland emerged victorious over the Virginia Tech Hokies by a final score of 54-10. It will get a chance to make it two straight bowl wins in front of the Charlotte crowd.
