The UMES Hawks will head down to Durham to take on the Duke Blue Devils in non-conference action this weekend from Cameron Indoor on the ACC Network.
UMES is 3-6 after losing to regional foe George Mason in Fairfax. The Hawks fourth game in Virginia ended in similar fashion, despite competing well with the Patriots in the first half. UMES is scoring 62.1 points per game, while shooting 39.3% from the field, and 32.3 from three.
UMES has endured a tough non-conference slate that has hindered what they’ve been able to do offensively. Zion Styles has reached double figures in five of nine games to lead the Hawks in scoring 11.1 ppg. Nathaniel Powell has been effective on the glass, grabbing a team-leading 7.1 rpg, while scoring 7.9 ppg.
