Maryland at Michigan – 1/1/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Maryland Terrapins and Michigan Wolverines face off on Sunday in a college basketball showdown at the Crisler Center. When these two teams faced off last January the game ended in an 83-64 victory for Michigan.

Maryland comes into this game with a 10-3 record overall and they have gone 9-4 against the spread. In the last game against UMBC the offense scored 80 points, and won by 16. Two games ago against Saint Peter’s they were able to secure the 75-45 victory. Maryland is averaging 74.8 points while their defense is giving up 61.8 points per game. Jahmir Young is averaging 14.7 points while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 28 percent from behind the three point line.

On the other side of this matchup is Michigan who sits with a 7-5 record and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. This has been a very disappointing season for Michigan and they are coming off a terrible loss against Central Michigan in the last game. The offense only managed 61 points, and that led to the two point defeat. MIchigan is averaging 75.9 points while their defense is giving up 71.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 109th, and they need to find a way to get the offense going here. They also need more balanced production from the bench if they want to find success here.
