Vettori vs Dolidze Prediction

Marvin Vettori's return to the middleweight division didn't go as planned, picking up a unanimous decision loss to Robert Whittaker at UFC Paris. Now, he must attempt to bounce back against Roman Dolidze, who's knocked out each of his last three opponents.

While Dolidze is the hotter hand, Vettori should give him trouble. The 29-year-old Italian fighter is as elusive as they come and has a 59% strike defense rate to back it up. He's also capable of matching Dolidze blow-for-blow if need be.

One thing that gives Vettori a clear advantage is his grappling game. He averages 1.89 takedowns per 15 minutes with 44% accuracy and 74% defense. While Dolidze is solid at getting his opponents on the mat, he only has a 33% takedown defense clip.

Both fighters will do some grinding in this one and while it could go either way, Vettori has what it takes to get back in the win column.

Vettori vs Dolidze Best Bet

I'm not exactly in love with either fighter here, so I'm taking a neutral approach to the best bet. For me, that's taking this fight going the distance at -168 odds.

For starters, 10 of Vettori's last 12 fights have gone the distance – including the last five in a row. While only three of Dolidze's previous 13 fights have reached the time limit, it's unlikely for him to knockout Vettori, who's yet to be finished in his 11-year career.

Needless to say, I won't be shocked if the judges must decide the winner.
