The Marshall Thundering Herd will travel to the W.S. Hanner Fieldhouse on Thursday evening in a Sun Belt Conference matchup against the Georgia Southern Eagles. The Thundering Herd are 12-3 (1-1) right now and are coming off a 72-66 home loss on Saturday against the James Madison Dukes. The Eagles are 9-6 (2-0) so far and are riding a two-game winning streak after coming off a 73-64 road win on Saturday over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. These teams will also clash on February 16 as well so this should be interesting.  

The Marshall Thundering Herd have been playing extremely well, but are coming off a 72-66 home loss against the James Madison Dukes last time out. They scored well in the second half as they outscored JMU 37-32. They shot the ball decently well as they were 26-of-63 (41.3 percent) overall, 4-of-17 (23.5 percent) from the three, and 21 free-throw attempts. Senior guard Taevion Kinsey led the team as in 40 minutes he finished with 18 points, three rebounds, seven assists, one block, two steals, and two turnovers. Defensively, they struggled to get stops as they allowed 52.9 percent from the floor and 35.7 from deep here. Marshall did incredibly well as they finished with 10 steals and seven blocks throughout the game. 

The Marshall Thundering Herd are dominating this season as they are 22nd in the nation with 82.1 points per game thus far and shooting a solid 46.7 percent from the floor and averaging an incredible 19.3 assists per game.
