Marshall at UCONN – 12/19/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Marshall Thundering Herd and UConn Huskies face off on Monday in Myrtle Beach Bowl at Brooks Stadium. When these two teams faced off back in 2015 it was Marshall that secured the 16-10 victory.

Marshall finished the regular season with an 8-4 record and they went 6-6 against the spread. Marshall has won four games in a row and it’s been the defense that they have leaned on as of late. In the last game against Georgia State, Marshall was able to secure the 28-23 victory. Quarterback Cam Fancher completed 18 of his 28 passes for 208 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Rasheen Ali and Khalan Laborn both finished with over 100 yards rushing. Laborn also found the end zone twice. Marshall is averaging 24.2 points while their defense is giving up 16.2 points per game.

On the other side of this matchup is UConn who sits with a 6-6 record and they have gone 9-3 against the spread. UConn has been one of the biggest surprises all season, and not many had them even making a bowl game this season. UConn has won three of their last four games, but they are coming off a loss in the last game. In the last game against Army, UConn scored 17 points, but the defense gave up 34 points, and that led to the defeat. Zion Turner didn’t play that well completing 14 of his 24 passes for 116 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. UConn is averaging 19.8 points while their defense is giving up 26.1 points per game.
