The Marquette Golden Eagles (23-6, 18-10-1 ATS, 16-12 O/U) battle the Butler Bulldogs (14-15, 13-14-2 ATS, 8-19 O/U) in a Big East clash on Tuesday evening. The Golden Eagles posted a home win against DePaul on Saturday. The Bulldogs earned a home win against DePaul in their previous action. Marquette posted a 60-52 home win in the first meeting last month.
The Marquette Golden Eagles have clinched at least a share of the Big East title. They stand at 15-3 in conference play, two games ahead of Xavier and Providence. Marquette has won four consecutive games propelled by the solid offensive production. They defeated Creighton by a 73-71 score last week and were huge 13-point favorites in a 90-84 home victory against DePaul on Saturday. The Golden Eagles have covered the spread in two of their last four games.
Kam Jones has been inconsistent recently, shooting below 42% in two of his last three performances. The sophomore guard scored eight points against Butler earlier this month and has registered an average of 15.2 PPG. Olivier Maxence-Prosper has only scored double-digits in one of his last three clashes. The junior forward has also been inconsistent and is posting an average of 12.5 PPG on the year. Oso Ighodaro has been outstanding, shooting 58% o r better in three of his last four bouts. The sophomore forward has accrued an average of 11.9 PPG and 5.9 RPG.

The Golden Eagles are ranked 12th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and climbed four spots to #6 in this week’s AP Top 25 rankings. Marquette is a solid 7-4 on the road. They have collected 73 or more points in three of their last four games and are scoring an average of 80.8 points, good for 17th. The Golden Eagles are conceding an average of 71.1 points, placing them 213th.
