Torres vs Ogden Prediction

This is a "prove yourself" matchup between two fighters who know how to finish the competition. Twelve of Manuel Torres' 13 career victories have come by a finish. He's currently on a four-fight winning streak, most recently notching a first-round TKO victory over Frank Camacho at UFC on ESPN 36.

And while Trey Ogden has never KO'd an opponent, all but five of his 16 career wins have come by submission. Having said that, Ogden didn't submit either of his first two UFC opponents. He lost by split decision to Jordan Leavitt in his debut but bounced back with a unanimous decision victory against Daniel Zellhuber in September.

With Ogden struggling to finish his opponents lately, I see Torres winning this one. "El Loco" averages nearly seven more significant strikes per minute (10.5) than Ogden does (3.73) with much better accuracy (55% vs. 43%). Torres is also six years younger, meaning he has youth on his side.

With a four-fight winning streak also giving him momentum, look for Torres to finish Ogden this weekend.

Torres vs Ogden Best Bet

It's not ideal, but Torres at -164 moneyline odds is certainly playable. However, I also recommend backing Torres to win by KO/TKO at +250. He throws out nearly three times as many strikes as Ogden, which will likely overwhelm the latter as the fight goes on. Eventually, Torres will land that one shot he needs to send Ogden crashing to the mat.
