Louisville was drubbed 75-54 at home by Pitt in their previous game last Wednesday, failing to cover the line as a 9.5-point underdog in that contest. Boston College went on the road and earned an 84-72 win at Notre Dame Saturday in their previous game, winning outright as a five-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, Louisville owns a 10-4 edge and has won the last three meetings. That includes a 67-54 home win in the most recent matchup on January 19, 2022.

Louisville has had problems all year long and that trend continued as they were walloped at home by Pitt last Wednesday in their most recent contest. The Cardinals dropped to a miserable 2-17 overall and stand in the basement of the ACC with a 0-8 mark this year. Against Pitt, Louisville led by four about seven minutes into the game before giving up a 19-2 run that left them down 29-16 with 6:31 to play in the first half. The Cardinals trailed by nine at the half and never narrowed the margin below six the rest of the way. Louisville shot 33.9% from the floor, including five of 20 from beyond the arc, and turned the ball over 17 times in the loss. El Ellis led the way with 19 points and five assists in the loss.

The Cardinals enter the game 349th in scoring offense with 62.4 points per contest this season. Louisville is 311th in the nation in rebounding with 32.2 per contest wh ile the team is 363rd, or dead last, in Division I by dishing out 8.7 assists per contest. The Cardinals are below average defensively, ranking 320th in scoring defense as they allow an average of 75.2 points per game this year. El Ellis is the team’s leading scorer and the lone player scoring in double figures as he puts up an average of 17.8 points plus 4.7 assists a night. Jae’Lyn Withers (8.1 points, 4.8 rebounds) and Mike James (8.9 points) are good secondary options offensively. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, JJ Traynor, Roosevelt Wheeler, Hercy Miller, Sydney Curry, Kamari Landis and Zan Payne are other contributors for coach Kenny Payne. Louisville shoots 40.3% from the floor as a team this season. The Cardinals are splashing 5.9 triples a night while shooting 31.4% from beyond the arc.
