Louisville at Virginia – 10/8/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Louisville Cardinals and Virginia Cavaliers face off on Saturday in a Week 6 college football showdown at Scott Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was Virginia that secured the 34-33 victory.

It has been a very disappointing season as the Cardinals currently sit with a 2-3 record overall. In the last game against Boston College, they were competitive but didn’t score any points in the 4th quarter and that led to the 34-33 defeat. Under center for Louisville is Malik Cunningham and he threw for 186 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 15 times for 62 yards and three touchdowns. This is an explosive offense, but they have left way too many points on the board. The Cardinals are averaging 26.4 points while their defense is giving up 23.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 90th, and they need the offense to be good.

On the other side of this matchup is Virginia who sits with a 2-3 record and they are coming off a terrible loss in their last start. Virginia scored only 17 points against Duke while the defense gave up 38 points. Under center for Virginia is Brennan Armstrong and in the last game, he completed 19 of his 37 passes for 202 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Virginia is averaging 18 points while their defense is giving up 23 points per game. The defense has been fine this year, but the offense hasn’t been good enough, and that is going to need to be a lot better in this game. Armstrong is growing in his confidence, and he can’t have the turnovers in this game.
