The Louisville Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks face off on Monday in a college basketball showdown at the Lahaina Civic Center. When these two teams faced off in 2009 it was Louisville that secured the 96-66 victory.
Louisville has really struggled to start the season. They come into this game with an 0-3 record and they have gone 0-3 against the spread. They have lost all three games by a total of three points. In the last game against Appalachian State, the offense only managed 60 points, and that led to the defeat. Louisville is averaging 66 points this season while their defense is giving up 67 points. El Ellis has been the top player for Louisville averaging 24 points while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the three-point line.
On the other side of this matchup is Arkansas who sits with a 3-0 record and they have gone 1-1-1 against the spread. In the last game against South Dakota State the offense was good, but even more impressive was the defense which gave up only 58 points. Overall Arkansas is averaging 73.7 points while their defense is giving up 54 points per game. The defense is ranked 18th in all of college basketball, and will need to be strong here. They clearly take a ton of pride in playing defense. Ricky Council IV is averaging 18.7 points while shooting 57.9 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from behind the three-point line.
