The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (2-0) visit the Rice Owls (1-1) at Rice Stadium on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
The Ragin’ Cajuns head into the matchup after winning 49-21 over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in their last game on September 10. The Owls are coming off of a 52-10 win over the McNeese Cowboys. In that matchup with the Eagles, Ben Wooldridge had 169 yards on 12-of-13 passing (92.3%) for the Ragin’ Cajuns, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Dre’lyn Washington carried the ball eight times for 45 yards (5.6 yards per carry) with one touchdown on the ground. John Stephens Jr. hauled in three receptions for 103 yards (averaging 34.3 per catch), while scoring one touchdown against the Eagles. TJ McMahon’s performance for the Owls against the Cowboys included 20-of-29 passing for 274 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. He rushed three times for 26 yards and one touchdown. In that matchup, Ari Broussard had a 17-carry, 71-yard game (4.2 yards per attempt) with one touchdown. He also added one reception for 10 yards . Bradley Rozner collected three c atches for 101 yards (on four targets), with two touchdowns.
The Owls are double-digit, 11.5-point underdogs in their matchup with the Ragin’ Cajuns (the game has a total of 51 points).
