Louisiana Sportsbooks Record Another Historic Rout Of Public

Louisiana sportsbooks again performed the voodoo that they do so well in July, as operators claimed $20.7 million in gross sports wagering revenue for the month. This was according to the state police, which track such matters and released the figures Monday.

While the strong July figure was nearly double June’s total of $10.9 million, it was still just the fourth-best haul in Louisiana’s seven months with mobile wagering. The 17.5% hold, however, is the number that stands out. It is the highest recorded in the state’s brief history and well above the 15% recorded in May that was the highest win rate for any state in the post-PASPA era.

Louisiana operators have posted holds of 10% or higher in six of nine overall months of activity, including four occasions this year since mobile was launched in January. The four double-digit win rates in 2022 have been 11.2% or higher, with July’s more than double June’s 8.2% mark.
