Los Angeles Lakers at Toronto Raptors – 12/7/22 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Toronto Raptors play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their last 11 games overall, but they will be hoping for a better showing in this one after getting routed by the Cavaliers in a 116-102 road loss last night. LeBron James led the team with 21 points, 17 rebounds and four assists, Thomas Bryant added 19 points with nine rebounds on eight of 12 shooting while Dennis Schroder and Russell Westbrook each scored 16 points. As a team, the Lakers shot 42 percent from the field and just six of 36 from the 3-point line as they poured in 34 points in the third quarter to rally back from an eight-point halftime deficit, only to get blown out in the fourth quarter by 31-19. Anthony Davis finished with just one point as he left after just eight minutes with flu symptoms.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their last eight games and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling short to the Celtics in a 116-110 loss on Monday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 29 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, Scottie Barnes added 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Gary Trent Jr. chipped in with 20 points on seven of 10 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Raptors shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 28 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 37 points in the second quarter to build an early 10-point lead, but they let all their hard work go down the drain in the third quarter where they got outscored by 35-18. Fred VanVleet had a rough night as he finished with just eight points on three of 14 shooting.
