The Los Angeles Kings face the Tampa Bay Lightning in a matchup of two of the best teams in the league. The Kings have a 27-17-6 record and are near the top of the Pacific Division while the Lightning have a 31-15-1 record and with seven wins in their last 10 games have leaped to the top of the Atlantic Division. both teams are looking to head into the All-Star break on a high note and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Kings are having a great season led by an offense that is scoring 3.18 goals per game. Kevin Fiala, Phillip Danault, and Anze Kopitar have scored 44 goals and 80 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Viktor Arvidsson, Adrian Kempe, and Gabriel Vilardi have combined for 48 goals and 48 assists while defensemen Sean Durzi and Drew Doughty have added nine goals and 47 assists from the blue line to help open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.38 goals per game. Drew Doughty and Michael Anderson have combined for 6.0 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Jonathan Quick has been awful with a .884 save percentage and a 3.34 goals-against average on 706 shots.
