The Los Angeles Kings face the St. Louis Blues with both teams off to rocky starts to the season. The Kings have a 5-5 record while the Blues are 3-4 and on a four-game losing streak. Both teams are looking to improve in their divisions and the Western Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Kings looked promising at times this season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.50 goals per game including 12 goals in their last three games. Gabriel Vilardi, Kevin Fiala, and Anze Kopitar have scored 10 goals and 19 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Adrian Kempe, Trevor Moore, and Phillip Danault have combined for 11 goals and 10 assists while defensemen Sean Durzi and Matt Roy have added four goals and six assists from the blue line to open up the offense.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has let the Kings down, allowing 4.10 goals per game. Michael Anderson and Drew Doughty have led the top two pairings but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Moreover, goaltender Jonathan Quick has been awful in the net with a .878 save percentage and a 3.81 goals-against averag e on 205 shots.
