Los Angeles Kings (11-9-2) vs. San Jose Sharks (7-12-3)

The 2022-23 NHL betting action continues Friday with this Western Conference battle when the Los Angeles Kings traveled to take on the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center in San Jose, California.

This is a battle between two struggling teams. Los Angeles lost their third straight game when they fell to the New York Rangers on Tuesday, 5-3. San Jose lost to Seattle on Wednesday, 8-5, their third loss in their last four games. These teams have not met this season but split the four contests last year with the home team winning three of the four games.

The Los Angeles Kings (11-9-2, 12-10 ATS) saw Sean Walker score his first goal of the season a little over six minutes into the third period, but Chris Kreider responded with two goals to give the New York Rangers a 5-3 victory. After going 4-1-1 in the first six games of November, the Kings are 1-3-1 since. The club is now 5-5-2 on the road.

“Our game tonight has matched our year, where we're inconsistent,” Los Angeles coach Todd McLellan said. “We're up and down, whether it's within a game, whether it's two-game segments, one-game segments, back to backs. We're still searching for that [consistency].”

Kevin Fiala scored his seventh goal of the year and added two assists in the loss. That snapped a three-game pointless streak for the forward. The Kings scored on their only power-play opportunity of the night, and are hoping to get their special teams going. The team is 22nd on the power play (19.8%) and 25th in penalty killing (74.3%). Los Angeles is allowing 3.46 goals per game, 23rd overall.
