The Los Angeles Kings face the New York Islanders with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Kings have a 32-19-8 record and are in second place in the Pacific Division while the Islanders have a 30-24-7 record and with back-to-back wins have leaped into fourth place in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to continue to improve in their divisions and the playoff picture and the upcoming game looks to be a great one.

The Kings are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.31 goals per game. Kevin Fiala and Anze Kopitar have scored 40 goals and 72 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also been great. Adrian Kempe, Phillip Danault, and Viktor Arvidsson have combined for 58 goals and 66 assists while defensemen Drew Doughty and Sean Durzi have added nine goals and 58 assists from the point to help open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.34 goals per game. Drew Doughty and Michael Anderson have combined for 7.6 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Jonathan Quick has struggled with a .878 save percentage and a 3.49 goals-against average on 773 shots with -21.0 goals saved above average.
