The 2022-23 NHL season goes on with an 11-game Thursday card and brings this Western Conference clash between the Los Angeles Kings on the Colorado Avalanche at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado at 9:00 p.m. ET.
This is the second meeting of the season between these teams, with Los Angeles defeating Colorado in Denver in a shootout on December 29, 5-4. The Kings were the underdogs in that contest (+125) with the total set at 5.5. The Kings are the underdog in this game as well (+140).
The Los Angeles Kings completed a sweep of their three-game homestand, defeating the Washington Capitals on Monday, 4-2. It was the fourth straight victory for the team, who head to the road for just one game in Colorado before returning home where they will play seven straight contests. The Kings are 17-11-6 on the road and find themselves tied with Vegas for the most points in the Pacific Division.
Washington tied the score at two a little over two minutes into the third period, but Mike Anderson delivered the game-winner just under eight minutes into the frame and Adrian Kempe scored his 30th goal of the season to clinch the victory. Phoenix Copley continues to impress since taking over the No. 1 goaltending duties, stopping 20 of 22 shots. Copley is now 20-4-2 with a 2.76 GAA and a .899 save percentage. He has allowed two goals in three of his last four starts.

Kempe finished with a goal and an assist in the contest and is third on the club with 49 points. Los Angeles is averaging 3.32 goals per game, 10th overall, but have been better in their last 10, averaging 3.60 goals per contest, and are fifth in the NHL on the power-play at 24.7%.
