Los Angeles Kings vs. Chicago Blackhawks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-22-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Divisional Round

The Los Angeles Kings face the Chicago Blackhawks with both teams heading in opposite directions this season. The Kings have a 25-17-6 record and are near the top of the Pacific Division while the Blackhawks have a 14-26-4 record and are in last place in the Central Division. Both teams look to improve in the Western Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Kings are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.19 goals per game. Kevin Fiala and Anze Kopitar have scored 28 goals and 56 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also been great. Phillip Danault, Viktor Arvidsson, and Gabriel Vilardi have combined for 42 goals and 56 assists while defensemen Sean Durzi and Drew Doughty have added nine goals and 45 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.40 goals per game. Drew Doughty and Michael Anderson have combined for 5.4 defensive point shares and 144 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Additionally, goaltender Jonathan Quick has struggled in the net with a .884 save percentage and a 3.35 goals-against average on 681 shots.
