The Los Angeles Kings face the Carolina Hurricanes with both teams in the middle of great seasons. The Kings have a 20-11-8 record and are in third place in the Pacific Division hope have only won two of their last 10 games. The Hurricanes have a 24-13-5 record and with two wins in a row, they have the second-best record in the Metropolitan Division. The Kings are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.28 goals per game. Anze Kopitar, Adrian Kempe, and Kevin Fiala have scored 39 goals and 74 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Quinton Byfield, Trevor Moore, and Phillip Danault have combined for 38 goals and 45 assists while defensemen Drew Doughty and Jordan Spence have added eight goals and 26 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Kings, allowing only 2.51 goals per game. Drew Doughty and Michael Anderson have combined for 5.6 defensive point shares and 148 blocked shots while Matt Roy, Vladislav Gavrikov, and Jordan Spence have combined for 6.3 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit.
