The Los Angeles Kings face the Buffalo Sabres with both teams looking to rebound from difficult stretches. The Kings have a 15-11-5 record and have lost two of their last three games as part of a six-game road trip. The Sabres have a 12-14-2 record and with back-to-back losses have fallen to the bottom of the Atlantic Division. Both teams are looking to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Kings are having a promising season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.39 goals per game. Kevin Fiala, Anze Kopitar, and Viktor Arvidson have scored 27 goals and 54 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Phillip Danault, Gabriel Vilardi, and Adrian Kempe have combined for 30 goals and 27 assists while defensemen Sean Durzi and Drew Doughty have added five goals and 31 assists from the point to overwhelm opposing defenses.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.61 goals per game with 13 goals in the last three games. Michael Anderson and Drew Doughty have combined for 3.4 defensive point shares and 90 blocked shots but the rest of the defense has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and find open shots on the net. Moreover, goaltender Jonathan Quick has been awful in the ne t with a .882 save percentage and a 3.55 goals-against average on 601 shots.
