Los Angeles won their third straight game as they rallied to win the opening game of this set with the Pirates in the Steel City Tuesday night. The Dodgers entered Wednesday with a 13-11 record, leaving them half a game ahead of the Diamondbacks for the top spot in the NL West race. On Tuesday night, Los Angeles trailed 7-2 after four innings before scoring the final six runs of the game. Chris Taylor (two runs, three RBI) had three hits to lead the Dodgers while James Outman (run) and Miguel Vargas (run, two RBI) each had two hits in the contest. Taylor hit his fifth homer of the season, a three-run shot, in the eighth inning, to complete the Dodgers’ rally. Noah Syndergaard didn’t factor in the decision as he threw four innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits with no walks and two strikeouts. Yency Almonte (2-0) earned the win in relief with a scoreless seventh, allowing one hit with no walks and two strikeouts. Shelby Mil ler worked a 1-2-3 ninth, striking out one, for his first save.

Julio Urias is on the hill for the Dodgers as he logs his sixth start of the season in this contest. He comes in 3-2 with a 3.33 ERA, a 1.222 WHIP, five walks and 30 strikeouts over 27 innings of work on the year. Urias took the loss in his last start, which came Friday on the road against the Cubs. He threw 3.1 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in a game the Dodgers lost 13-0.
