Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 8-13-2022

After running over the Kansas City Royals in Friday’s series-opener, the Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking to put things in reverse for another opportunity to crush their road foe on Saturday. The Dodgers piled eight runs on the scoreboard in the opener, and the Royals helplessly looked on with little hope of a comeback. They’ll try to keep things more competitive in the rematch with Brad Keller starting at pitcher again Los Angeles’ Andrew Heany.

Friday’s game was a mismatch from the start.

The Dodgers showed up to Kauffman Stadium and blew up the scoreboard as expected. It should be rinse, wash and repeat on Saturday.

Kansas City’s pitching rotation has been riding the struggle-bus all season, and they lack the bats to go blow-for-blow with the league’s No. 1-ranked run-scoring offense. It was like an all-you-can-eat buffet for the Dodgers against the Royals on Friday.

They’ll be looking to continue the dining experience at the plate courtesy of the hosting team at Kaufmann Stadium.

But it won’t just be at the plate. It could be on the mound as well with Andrew Heany (0.64 ERA) serving as the Dodgers’ starting pitcher. The starting lefty has pitched shutouts in two of his last three games against the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals.

Another strong outing against a struggling Royals team slashing .247/.310/.383 would be checkmate in the Dodgers’ favor.
