The squad has dealt with injuries to the pitching core but is starting to get healthy. They are three games out of first place behind the Diamondbacks and Giants.

Will Smith has clobbered two homers with three RBIs in his last four games. The 28-year-old catcher is having an outstanding season, launching 12 big flies with 41 RBIs and a .906 OPS. Smith went 3 for 9 with two RBIs against the Royals last season.
