The Los Angeles Clippers will play the second game of their road back-to-back when they face the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. Los Angeles entered Thursday’s game at Golden State on a three-game losing streak—this story was published prior to that game. Sacramento is riding a four-game winning streak following consecutive wins against Oklahoma City earlier this week.
Los Angeles wrapped up the first half of its season with four wins in its final six games, beating Golden State and Phoenix prior to the All-Star break. The Clippers have been struggling since returning, losing to the Kings, Nuggets and Timberwolves in three straight games. Their first loss came in double overtime against Sacramento in a 176-175 final, which was the second-highest scoring game in NBA history. They added an overtime loss at Denver in their following game before losing to Minnesota by seven points on Tuesday. Los Angeles faced Golden State on the road on Thursday night, but this story was published before that contest.

The Clippers were tied with the Warriors for fifth place in the Western Conference standings heading into Thursday’s tilt. They were both a half-game ahead of Dallas and one game ahead of Minnesota in the competitive race for the top six spots in the playoffs. Los Angeles is still seeking consistency on the offensive end of the court, ranked No. 23 in points per game (112.5). The Clippers are facing a Sacramento defense that is No. 26 in points allowed per game (118.1). Shooting guard Paul George leads Los Angeles with 23.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game, while Kawhi Leonard is adding 23.0 points and 6.1 boards. Double-digit scorers Marcus Morris (elbow) and center Ivica Zubac (calf) were both questionable on Thursday night, so their statuses are worth monitoring.
