Houston and Los Angeles will run it back on Wednesday night following the Clippers’ 95-93 win at home on Monday night. The Clippers had lost four consecutive games prior to picking up Monday’s win. Houston has been a disaster so far this season, winning just once in its last eight games.
Los Angeles got off to a strong start this season, picking up road wins against the Lakers and Kings. The Clippers struggled after that though, losing to Phoenix, Oklahoma City (twice) and New Orleans in their next four games. They lost three of those four games by double digits before bouncing back with a 95-93 win on Monday. Houston took the lead with less than 10 minutes remaining before Los Angeles tied the game with 40 seconds left and picked up the win on a Paul George jumper with six seconds remaining. The Clippers shot just 25% from beyond the arc and 42.5% from the floor.

George led the team with 35 points on 15 of 26 shooting, including a 5 of 10 mark from 3-point range. Center Ivica Zubac recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. The Clippers had high expectations entering the season with the impending return of Kawhi Leonard, but he has gone back on the shelf since playing two games in the first week of the season. He has been out for the team’s last five games and is going to be sidelined again on Wednesday. Veteran point guard John Wall, who ranks second on the team in scoring, missed Monday’s contest and is questionable to play on Wednesday with a knee issue. The Clippers have already been the worst team in the NBA offensively, averaging 99.9 points per game.
